Het meisjeshuis, zoals we dat in zijn huidige vorm kennen, stamt uit 1771. Stadsarchitect Terburgh ontwierp een uitermate ruim gebouw met een bijzonder deftig en representatief voorkomen. Zowel in de gevel als in het stucwerk van de regenten- en regentessenkamers zijn nog verfijnde rococodetails aanwezig.

Toen de gemeente Delft het pand verliet, kreeg TAK architecten van de Monumenten Stichting Het Meisjeshuis opdracht het pand geschikt te maken voor de nieuwe bewoners, Het Erfgoedhuis Zuid-Holland en Delft Kennisalliantie.

Behalve de restauratie en de aanpassingen is het pand uitgebreid met een kelder onder de tuin, een lift en een trappenhuis. De trap is ondergebracht in een nieuw ontworpen glazen schacht tussen twee bestaande bouwdelen aan de zijde van de Boterbrug. Het achterhuis van dit monumentale pand is ingericht met verschillende vergaderzalen, een auditorium en een sociëteitsruimte.
